If you fancy starring in the new series of Vera, there are a number roles up for grabs, as filming moves to Gateshead Quayside next week.
A ratings winner for ITV for 12 years now, Vera is one of the most popular crime dramas on British television, as well as having a big fanbase worldwide, including America, with billboards appearing in New York's famous Times Square to advertise its latest series launching over the Atlantic. The 12th series of Vera came to end earlier this year and fans didn't have to wait long for ITV to confirm another, with their excitement added to with the news that David Leon would be making a shock return to the cast.
David, nearly a decade on from leaving his role as Joe Ashworth, has been spotted back on set with leading lady Brenda Blethyn over the last month, as series 13 filming has taken the Vera cast and crew to various location across the North East, including Hexham, Wylam and North Shields. This week, production has switched to Gateshead's MetroCentre and Gosforth, were Brenda and co were spotted on Thursday.

Next week, filming will witch to the banks of the River Tyne and a casting call has appeared on talent agents NE14 TV's Facebook page, for a host roles in the upcoming scenes. These are scheduled in Gateshead and the Quayside on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4. A number of extras are needed for filming on July 3 from 9.30am-9.30pm and from 11.30am-9.30pm on the Tuesday.
A separate call has also been made for black and Asian adults specifically for the same two days.
