ITV Undercover Big Boss star Alfie Best has dropped a cool £3.5 million on a holiday park in Cornwall.
The multi-millionaire businessman, who has been billed as 'Britain's richest gypsy', said he bought the investment to "create new jobs and homes for people."
The 51-year-old owner of Wyldecrest Parks mobile homes, starred in Undercover Big Boss last year in a bid to find out what was going on his company.
Speaking about his impressive wealth, the My Big Fay Gypsy Fortune star told viewers: "I'm a Romany gypsy, I'm a gypsy through and through and sometimes I pinch myself."
In the episode Alfie said he felt like he’d lost touch with the day-to-day running of his business, so he shaved his head, donned an earring and pretended to film a documentary about looking for a new job.
Reflecting on the experience, he admitted: "We've got it wrong along the way, that's apparent but our failures make us better and our successes have kept us going. I'd love to do it again in a few years time and see how much has changed."
Speaking about his new acquisition in Cornwall Alfie told CornwallLive : "I get criticised for being a Gypsy, but it's something I'm proud of. My parents gave us a great life despite our financial situation and I want other people to have that same opportunity to provide for their families."
"I understand why people are wary of the outsider, but I want this to be looked as an opportunity for improvement. I want to create new jobs and homes for people and the best way to do that is invest."
Alfie, whose son Alfie Best Jnr starred in reality show Absolutely Ascot, spoke out recently about the Jimmy Carr drama.
The 8 Out Of 10 Cats comedian was slammed for making an 'evil' joke about the Holocaust and travellers.
Addressing the audience for his new Netflix show His Dark Materials Jimmy said: "When people talk about the Holocaust, they talk about the tragedy and horror of six million Jewish lives being lost to the Nazi war machine. But they never mention the thousands of gypsies that were killed by the Nazis."
"No one ever talks about that because no one wants to talk about the positives."
Viewers were appalled by the ill-judged 'joke' and Alfie posted on Facebook : “Really goes to show what some people think. I have one thing to say thank you for sharing your views on gypsies as this spreads hate.
“And it shows the world the abundance of abuse we take as gypsy people, glad the audience found it funny.”
