Tipping Point viewers declared Monday's episode of the quiz show "over" in the first round after a contestant scored a record-breaking drop. In an episode of the ITV programme first broadcast in 2021, host Ben Shephard revealed history had been made when Phil from Cornwall caused 22 counters to fall in a single go.
Among the electrician's round one haul was the "x2" counter, meaning his £1,100 win was doubled to £2,200. In response to Phil describing the drop as "amazing", Shephard said: "That's one word for it, yes.
"The previous Tipping Point record in round one with the double was 21 counters. You've just beaten that record with 22 counters across the Tipping Point.
