This Morning viewers said they were left taking what they said about Phillip Schofield back after they were left impressed by his on-air gesture. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Tuesday (April 18) alongside Rochelle Humes.
The pair are set to continue hosting the show together this week as Phillip's usual co-star Holly Willoughby is off sick. The blonde beauty was due back on-screen alongside her co-host and pal on Monday, however, on Sunday, the 42-year-old revealed that her planned return had been hit with a setback.
Holly wrote on Instagram against the distinctive green This Morning logo backdrop: "Hi ...just to let you know I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles," she said with frustrated-face emoji. Holly added: "I'll be back as soon as I'm better. Huge Love."

But the show must go on and Rochelle was drafted in to replace Holly for the week and she and Phillip have so far had a packed set of shows on their hands. During the latest two-and-a-half-hour instalment, Rochelle and Phillip were joined by Deirdre Sanders for her latest phone-in.
Viewers were asked to call and speak to the agony aunt when one distressed caller confessed that she's in an unhappy marriage with her husband who didn't even wish her a happy birthday today. The woman, referred to as 'Denise', had called in to ask Deirdre for advice on her marriage.
She told her and the hosts that her husband no longer compliments her, and makes no effort whatsoever to talk to her, ask her about her day, or even help with the housework. And the trio were clearly stunned to hear the caller admit that she brings her husband breakfast in bed every single morning, and she still doesn't even get a 'thank you' from him and today (Tuesday), on her own special day, she told how he refused to wish his wife a happy birthday.
After hearing her heartbreaking story, Philip decided to kindly take matters into his own hands, with the help of those in charge at This Morning, and offered to treat the caller to a birthday gift as he said that he is sending her off on a spa retreat - without her selfish husband. And that given it was her birthday, he encouraged the caller to ask a friend to tag along with her.
Fans were quick to praise the move, however, it came after Phillip came under fire at the start of their conversation. Fans were disappointed when the 61-year-old mocked the caller as she choked up and coughed down the phone before explaining her situation.
After hearing the cough, Phillip jokingly suggested that she should call the doctor for an appointment after the on-air blunder. "Seems like you should be the one calling the doctor for yourself," he quipped. But following the thoughtful gesture, some This Morning viewers took back their initial fury, the Mirror reports.
Including one who said: "Awwwwh I take back everything I said about Phil haha. So sweet of him to send that woman away. She deserves it." And another who added: "Cute of Phil to gift that lady a weekend away. Her husband sounds EVIL."
