ITV This Morning viewers baffled as they spot Brookside legend in new role

This Morning viewers were left wondering if they were seeing things as they spotted a Brookside legend in a new role on the show. Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were back at the helm of the ITV daytime show and were continuing to get themselves and those watching at home in the festive spirit.

And this time it involved the cast of White Christmas who made a special stop on their current UK tour to the This Morning studio. The cast - which includes former Strictly champ and The Wanted singer Jay McGuinness, along with Judy Garland’s daughter, actress Lorna Luft - had a brief chat with the show's hosts before performing live for viewers.

But those watching at home couldn't help but spot a familiar face among the White Christmas line-up and quickly took to social media to question what they were seeing.

Michael is in the cast of the touring production of White Christmas (ITV)

But since his time in Brookside, Michael, 65, has appeared in a number of West End musicals such as Hairspray in the role of Edna Turnblad in the musical's first UK tour and Sister Act the musical in which originating the role of Monsignor Howard in the first UK tour.

He also made appearances in Anything Goes and Our Day Out. However, Michael hasn't completely left TV behind as in 2021, he appeared in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.
