This Morning fans appeared unimpressed as one of its latest segments failed to take them away from reality and instead reminded them of the struggles being faced right here in the UK. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Monday (April 3).
The programme's usual Friday hosts have taken over This Morning from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for the next two weeks as the duo enjoy their usual Easter break. Kick-starting their first show of the week, Alison was quick to gush over her co-star after he ran a half marathon in London over the weekend.
And after sharing her pride, it was time for Alison, 48, and Dermot, 49, to crack on with the busy show which included a live, in-studio interview with Succession star Brian Cox as well as all the usual segments from Clodagh McKenna in the kitchen with her cheesy meatballs and mash, while beauty expert Bryony Blake had the alternative Easter gifts ahead of this weekend.
However, it was Alison and Dermot's chat with estate agent Leonard Steinberg that got under viewers' skin as he appeared on the programme live from New York to chat about some of the multi-million-pound properties on the market that are owned or have been opened by some very famous faces.
The hosts had earlier introduced the segment by discussing a home that's said to have appeared in HBO series Succession which Leonard later showcased, with the property reportedly worth around £67.2 million.
The segment featured homes including Zsa Zsa Gabor's Palm Spings mansion, worth over £2 million as well as Kat Von D's gothic mansion which would set a potential buyer back a hefty £6.3 million. Leonard also spoke about Madonna's Spanish style property, which is on the market for a staggering £17 million.
But not all This Morning viewers were impressed and took to social media to complain. @Borisnose2 fumed: "#thismorning .... no one gives two shiney s****s about multi million pound homes when we are all struggling. How about some helpful DIY tips, or how to redecorate on a budget? Read the room."
