Vanessa Feltz was reduced to tears on her TalkTV show as she discussed and reflected on the Queen being laid to rest after her state funeral on Monday. Queen Elizabeth II died 'peacefully' on September 8 at Balmoral, aged 96.
Following ten days of national mourning, yesterday (September 19), the nation and the world said a final goodbye to the late monarch. The Queen's coffin was transferred from Westminster Hall, where she spent four days lying in state, to Westminster Abbey in a procession followed by King Charles III and other members of the royal family.
Charles was joined by his siblings - the Princess Royal, Earl of Wessex, and Duke of York - as well as his sons Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex for the short walk to the historic abbey where they were joined by their partners and children for the poignant service.
There was then a second procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch, with the late monarch making a final journey through London and past Buckingham Palace were members of her loyal staff stood and waited, before bowing and curtseying for their 'boss' one last time.
She was then transferred into the state hearse before thousands of mourners have lined Windsor's Long Walk for one final glimpse of the Queen's coffin prior to her moving committal in St George's Chapel.
On Monday evening, former BBC Radio 2 broadcaster Vanessa was discussing the day's emotional events with Royal commentator Emily Andrews and Richard Trice. As Emily spoke about the moment of tradition where the monarch’s Lord Chamberlain, Lord Parker, broke his Wand of Office and then laid it on her coffin before it was taken down to the royal vault, Vanessa could be seen resting her head on her hand as she fought to control her reaction.
The 60-year-old commented: ‘It’s all a bit much, isn’t it? Even though we’re not seeing it. This is somehow…" While her guests agreed, the presenter added, with a wobble in her voice: "We’ll never see her again," before being heard sniffling. Emily was on hand as she dipped into her pocket to bring out a tissue for Vanessa.
The This Morning star quietly mouthed 'thank you' before dabbing at her eyes. Vanessa, who also became tearful when she announced the death of Her Majesty live on television on September 8, has since shared how she has had an emotional time in her private life.
Vanessa said she is "truly heartbroken" after her fiancé's younger brother died. She paid tribute to Ben Ofoedu's little brother Roy, calling him a "beautiful" person and a "gentle gentleman" after he passed away aged 47 on Friday. Vanessa wrote on Instagram: "I am truly heartbroken at the tragic loss of Ben's beautiful brother, a gentle gentleman."
She also commented under a tribute post by singer Ben: "Darling Ben, I am devastated at the premature loss of your beloved brother. I love you too much to see you in such pain. You have my heart, my hand and my prayers in love."
The broadcast said in her Express.co.uk column that Ben "suddenly lost his 47-year-old younger brother Roy to an unexpected medical crisis." She said the tragic news came on the same day their new granddaughter was born. Vanessa said said she was 'five minutes too late' to witness the birth of her fourth 'grandbaby' to parents Saskia and her husband Marc. "We wish for our beautiful Cecily the longevity of Her late Majesty, and so much more," she penned.
