ITV This Morning's Phillip Schofield blasts Harry and Meghan saying 'just shut up'

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were back in the UK on Monday, September 6, attending the One young World Summit in Manchester. However, not everyone was pleased about their return to the country. This Morning’s Phillip Schofield was reported to have made a "savage" dig on the show after the conversation turned to Meghan's recent podcast.

The outburst came as Phillip returned to the ITV programme week. This week he is celebrating 20 years of working on the daytime show.

Alongside co-host Holly Willoughby, the presenters were joined on the morning show by former MP Gyles Brandreth and journalist Camilla Tominey. As the conversation turned to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returning to Frogmore Cottage. Camilla brought the conversation to Meghan’s recent launch of her Spotify podcast.

According to the Mirror, Camilla commented that the podcasts have still taken aim at the Royal Family which proved to be lucrative for the couple when it came to boosting media for their upcoming projects.

Hitting back, the publication said that Phil fumed. He said: “There's no dignity in that though is there?” to which Camilla replied: “Well, no”.

The TV host then added: “I mean the Queen is 96-years-old, dignified her entire life, now having to cope with this. There have been rumours that she and the Prince of Wales are 'bewildered' by what they are saying.

“We've been very sympathetic and then sometimes we've been critical but then you look at it and think, oh why don't you both just shut up.”

The couple are making their first visit to the UK since the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
