Holly Willoughby admitted to getting emotional over a moment that was overshadowed by the numerous resignations coming out of No.10. The presenter made the comment as she returned to This Morning on Wednesday (July 6) alongside her co-host Phillip Schofield.
It is the first time the pair have been on air since there was a double shock in Westminster on Tuesday evening when both Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak issue their letters resignation, rocking the current Tory government with similar exits following throughout the evening and into today (Wednesday).
Mr Sunak and Mr Javid both quit their positions as Chancellor and Health Secretary, with Sunak commenting that 'the public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously'. Meanwhile Javid commented that "it is with most enormous regret that I must tell you that I can no longer, in good conscience, continue serving in this government."

To discuss the latest news which was continuing to unfold as they appeared on screen, Holly and Phillip were joined by Matthew Wright and Camilla Tominey. Starting today's 'This Morning's View' segment, Phillip joked: "Actually no politics today. Let's start with..."
As the group laughed Matthew pleaded: "Can we just start with Cameron Norrie?" Phillip made a huge noise as if it agree with his guest as he said: "Wouldn't that be great?" before Phillip added: "Wouldn't that be lovely? What a lovely world that would be."
"It made me cry yesterday," Holly, 41, was heard saying amongst the chatter. "He did so well," she added as Phillip commented: "What a brilliant match that was. He made us suffer for a bit but what a match."
He then said as he smiled: "Anyway, we're not starting with that..." to which Holly interjected; "That felt nice though, didn't it?" to which her co-star agreed and replied: "What a change that would have made to the world if we could have started with This Morning's View with that."
Cameron Norrie still remains the last British singles player in the Wimbledon tournament after making it through to the semi-final later this week following a dramatic quarter-final match. The tennis player kept hopes alive of a third home win in the Wimbledon men’s singles in a decade with a dramatic five-set victory over Belgium’s David Goffin in the quarter-finals on Tuesday (July 5).
The ninth seed twice recovered from going a set down to claim a 3-6 7-5 2-6 6-3 7-5 victory on a raucous No 1 Court and become only the fourth British man in the Open era to reach the last four at the All England Club. The 26-year-old will now face top seed Novak Djokovic in the semi-final later this week.
While the tennis may have been what they wanted to talk about, Holly, Phil, Matthew and Camilla do go on to discuss the resignations of Mr Javid and Mr Sunak, with Phillip revealing that the freshly departed Chancellor was actually due to appear on the ITV show on Thursday (July 7). "He cancelled just before that cabinet VT where we saw them all sitting there."
