ITV This Morning miss out on award ending six-year winning streak weeks after National Television Awards drama

This Morning has missed out on its latest award ending a six-year winning streak. The ITV daytime show, fronted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield from Monday to Thursday and Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on a Friday, was up for the best daytime show gong at the TV Choice Awards.

However, at the star-studded event, held in London on Monday night (November 14), it was revealed that The Chase were the winners of the award. This means the ITV quiz show is the first different show to win the award since 2014, with This Morning bagging the title every year since 2015.

The Chase hosted by Bradley Walsh, won its first award for best daytime show at the ceremony hosted by comedian Jo Brand at the London Hilton on Park Lane. It is the first time since the pandemic that the awards, which showcase what viewers voted for as their favourite shows, have returned in-person.
