Miriam Margoyles had ITV This Morning viewers in stitches after making a blunder while giving dating advice.
The actress joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Wednesday's show (November 30) to impart her wisdom as an agony aunt. One caller, Leanne, was looking for advice on getting back into the dating scene as a plus-sized woman.
She asked Miriam for tips and how to look for a bit of a boost. The 81-year-old admitted that it had been a long time since she had anything to do with dating. The actress has been with her partner since 1968.

Miriam said: "I believe that were are dating websites - like Grindr, and..." as Phil interjected: "I'm not entirely sure if Leanne will be interested in that one."
"No? Is that a gay one?" she asked. "It is, yes," Phil confirmed. Miriam continued: "Oh! I'm sorry! I don't want you to go gay, it's not worth it at your time of life."
Phil, who came out as gay in 2020, added: "That may certainly be an option. Still not sure it's the right one for Leanne." Then, Miriam continued dispensing her brutally honest advice.
"What you should do - lose a bit of weight, darling. If you think you're too fat to have sex, lose a bit of weight. You know, don't eat too much at Christmas. Because we all do".
Viewers flocked to Twitter to share their reaction to the moment, with some laughing so much it had them in tears. @whataimeedid said: "Miriam recommending this caller who’s straight to go on Grindr and just lose weight if she thinks she’s too fat for sex I am CRYING #ThisMorning" and @KarenLinton added: "WFH and have #ThisMorning on in the background and @MMargolyes is the absolute best. Telling people to go on grindr, loose weight and wash their bits. Love her".

As the segment ended, the actress Miriam claimed that one of the female ITV staff members working behind the scenes at This Morning was wearing a "p***y pelmet". According to urban dictionary, a p***y pelmet is a very short skirt, leaving nothing to the imagination.
This comment also sent Twitter into meltdown. @SandieJ3 said: "Always love it when Miriam Margolyes is on This Morning, Always makes me laugh Especially today when mentioning.... a p***y pelmet" and @LisaHogg19 added: "@MMargolyes crying here "p***y pelmet" on #ThisMorning".
