An expert from ITV's This Morning says 4p sticks being sold at B&M and Poundland will make sure no flies enter your house this summer. With temperatures soaring due to a UK heatwave, many of us have more windows open than usual in our homes.
This unfortunately means a plague of flies within our homes, which can prove incredibly annoying. Some people will reach for a fly swatter or some fly spray to get rid of the pesky insects, but others would rather stop them from coming inside altogether.
On today's episode of This Morning, 'Queen of Clean' Lynsey Crombie gave her top tips for keeping flies out of your house. She had several suggestions, but one item proved particularly effective.

Lynsey suggested packs of Citronella incense sticks, which flies hate the smell of. Her pick was a £8 pack of 30 from Amazon.
I actually bought a packet of the Citronella insense sticks from B&M earlier this week. The packet of 50 costs £2 - working out at 4p per stick. I also spotted the same product for the same price in Poundland, if you don't fancy paying £8+ for them from Amazon.
I lit them by my balcony window following an annoying influx of flies. They really worked, and quickly made my flat fly-free.
Lynsey also suggested buying some cheap 55p plants you can find in supermarkets like ASDA, Aldi Lidl and Tesco, to keep the flies at bay. Flies don't like basil or mint, and they will be repelled by the pungent herbs, so you could try grabbing a few little plants and putting them on windowsills and near doors. You can buy a basil or mint plant for as little as 65p from Asda, 55p in Aldi and £1.30 in Tesco.
The smell of essential oils like mint, lemongrass and lavender are hated by flies. You can create your own natural fly deterrent spray by adding a few drops of any of these oils to water in a spray bottle. We recommend lavender so the spray will also leave your kitchen smelling fresh.
