ITV The Chase's Paul Sinha threatens to 'knock out' contestant on behalf of wife

Paul Sinha jokingly said he would 'knock out' a contestant on The Chase.

Bradley Walsh welcomed players Michelle, Salim, Karen and Riaz to the ITV quiz show to go head-to-head with the chaser. They all hoped to go home with a cash prize.

But one player, Salim, seemed to have more selfish needs for his spends than his peers. He wanted to spend any potential winnings on himself rather than his wife, Beverley, and grown-up daughters.

The 53-year-old magazine publisher planned to spend any cash on DJ equipment for his bedroom. He joked that he might need to get the room sound proofed too so he didn't annoy his wife.

Salim, from Manchester, managed to secure a measly £3,000 in the cash builder round. He told Bradley he had hoped to get at least £5,000, to which Brad replied: "Tricky today, very tricky."

The contestant finally came face-to-face with chaser Sinhaman. Paul said: "Hello Salim. I'm going to knock you out for the benefit of your wife. Because, I don't know what vinyl you've got in your home but it definitely isn't the Rolling Stones is it."

They all laughed before they continued to play the game. Salim sadly went home empty handed after being caught by the chaser, but he was still joyful as he said: "At least it will save Beverley's ears!"

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
