ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh under fire as viewers slam player's 'harsh' treatment

The Chase came under fire from viewers today over a player's "harsh" treatment.

Bradley Walsh returned to front another edition of the popular ITV game show on Monday. The 62-year-old presenter welcomed Michael, Donna, Louise and Andy on to the show for the first episode of the week.

The players were testing their wits against Shaun Wallace in a bid to win a huge cash prize. Donna navigated her past way Shaun, but the Chaser was in strong form as he defeated Michael and Louise in tense head-to-heads.

Andy was bidding to join Donna in the last round, but viewers were confused when he was told his first answer in the cash-builder was incorrect. Bradley asked: "If a driver does a u-ie what manoeuvre are they performing."

Andy responded: "A turnaround in the round." The correct answer was a u-turn, but viewers following the show on Twitter thought Bradley should have accepted the answer.

Alice said: "He should’ve been given that, harsh"

Tony posted: ""In the road", he said, which is correct as far as I can see"

Ciaran commented: "Since when is a turn around in the road not a u-turn"

Pink Giraffe posted : "That’s a bit tight not giving him turning around in the road"

Lockiebaws added: "OH COME ON NOW BRAD."

Marie responded: "The question was flawed"

The 35-year-old project manager from Stoke-on-Trent built up £2,000 and took the lower offer of minus £1,000 before he navigated his way past The Chaser. The team were competing for £6,000 and built up 14 steps in the last round.

However, Shaun caught the team so they left the show empty-handed.
