ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh taken aback by Southport contestant's job

Bradley Walsh was wowed as a player shared their job on today's episode of The Chase.

The 61-year-old welcomed four new quizzers on to Thursday's edition of the ITV game show. Matt, Julia, Ryan and Margo were taking on Shaun Wallace in a bid to win a cash prize.

Matt was first up and put in an impressive showing to book his place in the final round with £4,000. Julia was up next and the host was impressed when she revealed what she worked as.

The 32-year-old hailed from Southport and worked as a "security official". Bradley probed whether this was like a "personal bodyguard" and Julia explained what the job involved. She said: "I work freelance security all around the country. I do event work, residential, but sometimes it's close protection"

Bradley branded the job as interesting and Julia put in a strong showing as she built up £6,000 in her cash-builder. The Southport native opted for the higher offer and confidently navigated her way past The Chaser to book her spot in the last round with £36,000.

Viewers following the show on Twitter were impressed by her strong showing

Sharon said: "Well done Julia - great player!"

Callum added: "Absolutely love it when people take the high offer and romp it home go on Julia."

Julian commented : "Well done Julia"

Alexis tweeted: "Julia is on fire"

Julia was joined in the final by Matt and Ryan and were competing for a grand total of £45,000. They built up 20 steps, but Shaun only managed to build up 16 steps so the team left with the jackpot.
