Bradley Walsh made a promise to a player on The Chase tonight.
The TV presenter welcomed four new players to the ITV quiz show. Bill, Lucy, Carrie and James tested their wits against the Chaser, Paul Sinha, in the bid to win a cash prize.
James played first making it through to the final as he added £9,000 to the prize pot. Sadly Lucy and Carrie each went home empty handed after being caught, meaning that the pressure was on for Bill, a retired project manager who lives in Runcorn.

Bradley and Bill both agreed that James needed some help in the final round against the chaser as the host promised that he would get the final player through. He said: "We've got to get you through Bill."
The scouse sounding player currently volunteers at his local hospice and planned to spend any winnings on going to Melbourne to watch the Formula One racing. He earned a respectable £6,000 in his cash builder round, making his path to the final look promising.
Going head to head with the chaser, Bill was offered £66,000 as a high offer which he rejected. He said: "66 is a fantastic offer, thanks for that Paul. But with the team being down to just the two of us, I'm going to take the six and get back to James."
Unfortunately Bill was the third and final player to be caught by the chaser. He went home empty handed leaving James to battle it out in the final round alone.
