ITV The Chase player apologises for 'breaking set' after 'intense' round

A quizzer on The Chase apologised after "breaking the set" on today's show.

Bradley Walsh returned to host Tuesday's edition of the popular ITV game show. The 62-year-old welcomed Jon, Ant, Liz and Carl on the latest episode.

The players tested their wits against Anne Hegerty in a bid to win a huge cash prize. The Governess started out in strong form as she eliminated Jon after an impressive £7,000 cash-builder.

The team fought back as Ant and Liz navigated their way past the Chaser to book their spot in the last round. Carl was up in seat four and earned £5,000 in his cashbuilder.

The 51-year-old found himself in a one-question shootout with Anne to progress to the last round. Carl was relieved when he managed to book his spot in the Final Chase and apologised after he hit the podium with joy.

Bradley was taken aback as he joked: "Don't worry, I'll just repair the table. That's alright, no worries. It's elation."

Viewers on Twitter were thrilled after he progressed as Kris said: "Was probably the most intense round of The Chase I've seen." The team were competing to take home £18,000 and built up 15 steps in the Final Chase.

However, they left empty handed after The Governess caught them with 20 seconds remaining.
