ITV The Chase faces 'rigged' claim over 'horrifying' questions

The Chase came under fire during Wednesday's instalment of the popular quiz show as the first two contestants were knocked out in their first round.

Paul Sinha, aka The Sinnerman, was chosen to play against members of the public during this week's second edition of the ITV programme. Josh, Forida, Damien and Rosie were testing their wits against one of Britain's biggest brains in a bid to win big money.

Josh, a web developer from Wales, was first up to face the Chaser. He had a decent cash builder, gaining a potential £6,000.

He took the middle offer and played against Paul for the £6,000. Sadly for Josh he was sent home after being caught by the Chaser.

Forida, a team manager from Grays, saw a similar fate. She was caught by The Sinnerman after failing to get a music question correct.

Host Bradley Walsh asked her: "Which singer was described in 1965 as being 'devoid of personality'?". Potential answers were David Bowie, Elton John and Marc Bolan.

Forida answered Elton John, but the right answer was David Bowie. Sadly for Forida, the Chaser knew who it was.

After seeing the Chaser two nil up, many fans felt the questions were "horrifyingly difficult". Taking to Twitter, Patrick Cahill said: "Those questions were murder!!!"

Johnny Mac said: "Both Josh and Forida's questions have been horrifyingly difficult, is this The Chase or University Challenge?". Chris Tazzi said: "That is the worst set of questions I've ever seen. Absolutely rigged!". Yvonne said: "Lord, they're dropping like flies".

Damien and Rosie, both made it back to the table - despite the Sinnerman not getting a single question wrong. However, they were caught by the Chaser and left the studio empty-handed.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
