Singers are being urged to let their talent do the talking, when The Voice UK comes to Gateshead to host auditions for its upcoming series.
It's now been 11 years since The Voice made its debut on British soil, having been a massive hit in America. The first series aired on BBC, with Jessie J, Will.I.Am, Danny O'Donoughue and Tom Jones as coaches, and contestants including Becky Hill, the two time Brit winner, who became a huge chart star years later. Since the first series, the likes of Kylie Minogue, Ricky Wilson, Boy George, Paloma Faith and Jennifer Hudson, have all had a turn in the judges' chairs.
The Voice UK made the switch to switch to ITV in 2017, with other stars coming into coach including Meghan Trainor and Gavin Rossadle. The last few series have Sir Tom, Will.IAm, Olly Murs and Anne-Marie as its coaches, with Tom and Will continuing their run of being on every run on both the BBC and ITV.

Now, just as spin-off show The Voice Kids gets ready to return to screens, The Voice UK is on the hunt for singing hopefuls for its next series. And, one of the venues where people can try out is The Schooner in Gateshead. The pub, right by the River Tyne, is famous for its regular live music events and being a champion of new talent.
The Schooner announced its involvement in The Voice audition process on Facebook, revealing to followers that the auditions would be hosted at some point in July. Anyone interested in performing should email admin@theschooner.co.uk to apply.
The South Shore Road pub's Facebook post about The Voice UK has attracted plenty of attention so far, with a number of people tagging their friends in and one follower joking: "they would bar us!"
