ITV’s reboot of The Games, which sees a selection of famous faces compete in various sporting disciplines, began on Monday evening. Among the presenting team are former cricketer Freddie Flintoff, Soccer Saturday legend Chris Kamara and ex-footballer Alex Scott.
However, it’s Holly Willoughby, the main presenter alongside Flintoff, who got viewers all thinking the same thing. People tuning in were left unsurprised, if not a little annoyed, by the presenter’s presence on another TV show.
With a regular stint on This Morning, in addition to her new role presenting BBC’s cold-inspired programme Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, as well as the occasional appearance elsewhere, it seems difficult to find a programme she doesn’t present. And viewers certainly agreed.
In fact, on Tuesday night she’ll be competing against herself as The Games and Freeze the Fear will both broadcast at 9pm on the country’s two flagship channels. On Twitter, @TimBolton01 sarcastically stated: “Great to see Holly Willoughby and Alex Scott presenting. Haven't seen them on TV in ages. #TheGames.”
Meanwhile, fellow viewer @DonnaCarroll49 wants to see someone else given a shot. She said: “#Holly Willoughby - I'm sick to death of seeing her presenting. I wish ITV would give someone new a chance at presenting. If it's not her, it's Philip Schofield.”
The views were similarly reflected by other viewers. @TheDudleydave said: "Not yet another programme with Willoughby & Flintoff presenting?!?!?..aren’t there any new faces that deserve a chance on TV?"
@JohnSheppard71 said: "Does Holly Willoughby not like her family, she is on everything. Poor kids #TheGames." Twitter user @bbukmatty93 added: "I do love Holly but she does seem to be on tv a lot at the moment #thegames."
