Susanna Reid was taken aback after it was revealed Carol Vorderman was stepping in for Lorraine Kelly.
The broadcaster fronted today's edition of Good Morning Britain alongside Ed Balls. The two traditionally chat to the Scottish presenter during the programme to tease what is coming up in her self-titled chat show.
However, Susanna admitted she was taken aback when the former Countdown presenter was in Lorraine's seat. Susanna had encountered Carol at ITV studios in the early hours of the morning, but was confused by her presence.

She said: "Now I know the reason why. You were a vision. I didn't think you were in for our programme, but you're not." Carol joked Susanna drifted past her during the early morning encounter, before she revealed she was hosting the show while Lorraine recovers from coronavirus.
She said: "Sadly, Lorraine has caught the dreaded you-know-what and I'm sitting for a few days here, which I'm delighted to do. But we are wishing her a speedy recovery."
Lorraine Kelly took to Twitter today to thank Carol for hosting the show in her absence. She said: "Well the Covid has finally got me and I tested positive at the weekend.
"Thanks to the vaccine it’s not too bad and I hope to be back at work very soon. Huge thanks to @carolvorders who will be hosting @lorraine until I’m back."
