ITV's Susanna Reid issues Good Morning Britain apology after guest swears live on air

Susanna Reid was forced to issue a swift apology on Thursday's Good Morning Britain, after actress Linda Thorson swore on camera, while discussing late friend Paul O'Grady.

On Wednesday, the world woke up to the extremely sad news that entertainment icon Paul has died at the age of 67, with the star's husband Andre Portasio releasing a statement to confirm his death, adding:“He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion. I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.”

Paul's passing dominated daytime TV on shows like GMB, This Morning and Loose Women as people rushed to pay tribute to the trailblazing TV talent, with ITV announcing schedule changes to honour him.

And Paul's death was again addressed on Thursday's GMB when The Avengers star Linda who wanted to talk about his career before becoming a huge name in showbiz; with Paul working as a social worker, before bringing Lily Savage to primetime TV.

Talking about Paul's political views and dislike of the Conservatives, Linda added: "This bulls**t or whatever we had to just listen to. It's just repetitive..." as Susanna swooped in to interrupt: "Apologies for the use of the language."

Realising what she'd done, Linda continued: "Sorry, but he could just NOT stand this party and what they've done. He was very, very outspoken."

Linda then referenced Paul's famous comment as Lily when police came into the Royal Vauxhall Tavern wearing white gloves during the AIDs epidemic and Lily quipped they were coming in 'to do the washing up,' with her adding: "There's the story, everybody said. The police came into raid the club and they had gloves on not to touch people and he says 'oh, they're coming into do the washing up."
