ITV's Martin Lewis issues warning to Tesco shoppers as Liverpool crowd boos

Martin Lewis was met with boos from the Liverpool crowd as he revealed Tesco is changing a popular feature.

People across the region were thrilled as the Money Show Live end of season special was broadcast from St George's Hall last night. The finance guru returned to share valuable financial advice to help viewers navigate their way through the cost-of-living crisis.

The Money Saving Expert ended the show with four handy tips on the News You Can Use section. However, he was halted by boos as he said Tesco is changing a Clubcard perk that triples the value of points if you spend them with a partner.

He said: "Tesco is reducing its famous Clubcard Reward perk from 3x to 2x. So currently 500 points is worth £15 for restaurants like Pizza Express or Railcards or Disney +, which is the popular one at the moment."

However, Martin warned Tesco Clubcard holders how the value 500 points will drop to £10 from June 14. The 50-year-old went on to explain how shoppers can still enjoy the benefit for a year if they swap Clubcard points for a voucher with a reward code partner by June 14.

He said: "This is the important thing. Normally the rewards vouchers only last six months. If you swap between now until the June 14, they will last 12 months.

"It's a way of saying 'well, look if you want three times you can do it now and the voucher will last a little longer'. If you're a Tesco shopper, make sure you get in before June 14 and swap at your highest redemption rate that you can."
