ITV's Love Island fans furious at end of episode announcement

Love Island viewers were left furious after tuning into the ITV2 programme on Monday, June 20. Those watching at home had been eager to find out the results of the public vote, which saw fans pick their favourite girl and boy on the show.

The Islanders had no idea about the major twist until they were sent a text at the end of the episode and told to gather around the fire pit, they were then delivered the news that those with the fewest votes were at risk of being dumped from the island.

The public vote revealed that six islanders were at risk of leaving. Those were the lowest votes were Andrew, Ikenna, Jay, Amber, Ekin-Su and Tasha.

As the episode drew to a close, Danica read out a text that said: "The boy with the fewest votes and therefore dumped from the island is..." Before Dami read out the same text for the girls.

However, Love Island left viewers shouting at the screens as ITV failed to reveal who had been dumped and decided to end on a cliffhanger instead.

@It_b_ash tweeted: "This isn't Eastenders. Stop with the cliffhangers - let's not drag out one night into two episodes." While @_onyinyebaby_ added: "Love island has me stressed like what is this cliffhanger."

And @jayceehollis commented: "It's been an hour and a half and I am still enraged about how @LoveIsland ended… #cliffhanger."

As @antoinee95 said: "The worst part about that cliffhanger is that we voted yesterday. There was really no need for it tbh."

Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
