Lorraine Kelly could be heading to the Australian rainforest to take part in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here as bookies have slashed the odds on her taking on 'gruesome' trials when the show returns later this year. The Scots presenter has seen her odds tighten to 10-1 at William Hill.
Kelly has been backed by fans to enter the jungle, despite her claiming she'd rather "just watch" the show. The 62-year-old recently denied Strictly Come Dancing rumours, saying there’s "more chance" of her appearing on Love Island.
An insider said: "There’s a bit of a trend with some I’m a Celebrity contestants in that they’re adamant they’re not up to the challenge - just shortly before being announced as contestants on the next series. It’s not surprising then that Lorraine is amongst the most eagerly-backed this year.
"Her fans are no doubt keen to see how she’d interact with the other stars - and whether she could handle a bushtucker trial after all. "Lorraine is in the ideal position to make waves on a show like that - and with Strictly well and truly ruled out, why not I’m a Celeb?"
The current frontrunners in the market are former Eastenders star Danny Dyer (4-1), who left the soap earlier this year, and Denise Van Outen (6-1).
I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here will return to the Australian jungle this year, ITV has confirmed. The long-running reality TV show has been coming from Gwrych Castle in Wales due to coronavirus restrictions, but the crew and contestants are now heading back down under for the 2022 series.
The hit show is hosted by presenting duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
Emmerdale actor Danny Miller was crowned king of the castle in the latest season, while the last celebrity to win the show in the Australian jungle was Jacqueline Jossa in 2019.
The 2022 series will return in the autumn but ITV are yet to announce a release date.
