ITV's Lorraine Kelly forced to abandon live interview seconds after 'overheard' blunder

Lorraine Kelly was forced to abandon a live interview on her show on Monday, moments after a blunder she made was quickly seized on by viewers at home.

At the start of a new week, famous presenter Lorraine was back in the ITV studio to kick off a new week of episodes, being joined by guests including acting legend Sir Ian McKellen and regulars like Doctor Hilary Jones and Strictly star Tyler West, who was seen interviewing music icon Dolly Parton about her new album.

Giving a preview of what was coming up right at the top of the show, Lorraine told viewers that she would be chatting to travel expert Simon Calder about the concerns British tourists have about visiting France at the moment, given the rioting still going on in Parisian communities, after a teenage boy was shot dead by police.

The time for Lorraine's interview with Simon arrived with around 20 minutes of the programme left to go, with Simon waiting to speak to her at London's St Pancras station, where passengers can catch the Eurostar to Paris. However, things didn't go according to plan, as Lorraine firstly called St Pancras 'St Pancreas,' and was then forced to cut the chat with Simon, almost as soon as it started, due to a poor connection and Simon's image freezing on the screen, before an error message came up as his voice could still be heard.

She told people watching the show: "Ah, we're having bother, we're having bother. Not a problem. We'll try and get Simon back." A few minutes later, after Simon had slightly altered his location, the interview did go as planned, but Twitter was full of posts focusing on Lorraine's own mishap, with one viewer posting: "Did she just say st pancreas? lol" and a second tweeting: "Did she say St Pancreas? Is it not St Pancras?"
