ITV bosses have confirmed I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here will return to Australia for the next series.
The popular show had always been held in the Australian jungle, but for the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic it forced the producers to move the show closer to home.
Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, ITV bosses were sending the celebrities to Gwrych Castle in North Wales but producers have confirmed the show is going back down under.
The move back to Australia is set to delight fans, as well as hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, after last years series was plagued with a string of bad luck in the UK.
As reported in The Mirror, Rosemary Newell, Director of Content, said the show is expecting to be back in its original home, after two years being held at Gwrych Castle in North Wales.
"We expect I'm A Celebrity to return in Australia in November, when it will generate audience over 11 million," Newell said.
Ant and Dec have made no secret of the fact they'd love for the show to return to its native home - but they quipped it wasn't because they had anything against Wales.
In an appearance on The One Show earlier this year, Ant said: "Well, the plan is the jungle, so if all things..." before Dec Donnelly interrupted to say: "Nothing against Wales!"
Ant then added: "We love Wales but you know, Australia is its home and we’d like to get back there if we can," with Dec sharing: "That’s what we’re hoping, touch wood."
In the last series of the ITV show, horrific weather took the programme off air for a number of days - and in a show first, the whole group of campmates were removed from the castle in order to ensure their safety.
Dec admits it wasn't "quite the same" holding it in the UK - and that Australia was the show's "spiritual home".
"It wasn’t quite the same, but we had a great time in North Wales. They made us feel so welcome. I’m A Celebrity’s spiritual home is Australia," he explained during a recent TV appearance.
As Lorraine replied: "It was still a cracker, but it would be lovely to see you in Australia, so you can top up your tan."
"We can torment them a bit more in Australia as well," Dec then added.
