ITV's Gino D'Acampo quits major show after 'stressful' contract arguments

Gino D'Acampo has quit one of his most popular shows, after what he branded a 'stressful' argument over contracts.

Italia chef Gino has been one of ITV's biggest stars for years now, appearing as a regular guest on This Morning, landing his own travel and cookery series and hosting Family Fortunes and, since 2018, he has been entertaining millions of viewers alongside Gordon Ramsay and First Dates favourite Fred Sirieix in Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.

However, in news that is sure to upset fans, Gino has revealed he's walked away from the ratings winner, claiming that he was faced with an 'impossible situation.' Speaking in a candid Instagram video, which he captioned 'And now the end is here and so I face that final curtain,' Gino told his followers: “Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road trips. The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong.

It’s just because we can’t get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do."

Elaborating on his reasons for quitting Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip., former I'm A Celebrity winner Gino continued: "Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated and also because contracts.

"Because contracts start to become very complicated and very stressful, I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract."

He ended the post: ""So I have decided not to do it anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead."

Fans were quit to react to Gino's announcement, with one responding: "Ah no! Sorry to hear that! Thank you for all the brilliant TV & huge laughs! Our favourite show." Echoing those sentiments, another told Gino: "Ooooh noooo I love the three of you travelling together it’s so funny & down to earth... all the best with your future endeavours"
