ITV's Gino D'Acampo centre of 'unfortunate' Phillip Schofield moment on Family Fortunes

Gino D'Acampo was at the centre of a very awkward moment involving his now ex This Morning colleague Phillip Schofield, just a day after Phillip left the show he hosted for over 20 years.

After over a week of tense speculation surrounding Phillip's position on the much loved ITV daytime programme and his relationship with long standing co-presenter Holly Willoughby, Phillip took to Instagram on Saturday afternoon to reveal that he 'understood' that ITV bosses decided that the current situation 'couldn't go on' and had therefore left This Morning in the hope the show could go onto ' bright future.'

Phillip then told fans that he would be back to host The British Soap Awards, with ITV confirming that in a statement, as well as adding that they looked forward to working with him on another primetime series.

Phillip's exit from This Morning dominated headlines on Sunday and also became a hit topic on TV news and discussion shows. And, whether deliberate or not, ITV showed an episode of Family Fortunes on Sunday that namechecked the former Going Live star.

Family Fortunes is of course, fronted by Gino, who worked alongside Phillip for many years as a This Morning chef and in the episode he was seen asking one of the families to name people who they would expect to appear on This Morning.

The top answer, given by one of the players, was Holly, before another of them won themselves a spot prize for guessing Phillip.

The unfortunate moment quickly became a big talking point on Twitter, with one viewer posting: "Who would you expect to see on This Morning? Top answer Holly Willoughby Then Phillip Schofield. Tonight’s Family Fortunes. Oh dear. Guess it’s not live then."

Also picking up on it, a second tweeted: "I wonder if Phillip Schofield is watching Family Fortunes right now?"
