ITV's Coronation Street set tours to return for the first time in two years

Coronation Street tours are to return in March for the first time in two years.

The iconic ITV soap has been going for over six decades and now fans of the show will once again get the chance to walk in the footsteps of some of the soap's biggest characters - Roy Cropper (David Neilson), Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) - as the soap reopens its set to guests.

After a two-year hiatus, owing to the coronavirus pandemic, Coronation Street The Tour will reopen to give fans an insight into the UK's biggest working television lot. Tours can be booked from Saturday March 12th onwards.

The guided tour will take 90 minutes as fans are guided around the lot at MediaCityUK in Manchester, where they will get a chance to see the set of Coronation Street, Rosamund Street and Victoria Street.

They will also get a chance to take a look at the Rovers Return and Roy Cropper's café Roys Rolls as well as the factory, Underworld, and Dev's shop The Kabin as they enjoy everything the cobbles has to offer.

Armed with all the local knowledge and behind-the-scenes secrets, the guides will take their guests through the whole street, reminding them of some of the iconic storyline moments that took place as well as snap a selfie - or two - on the street!

Steve Masters, General Manager of Continuum Attractions, who are running the tour, said: "Even with all the drama unfolding on our screens over the last couple of years, those cobbles haven’t half been quiet and we’ve missed sharing them with all our guests! But, it’s going to be well worth the wait and we look forward to welcoming our first guests back on the street next month."

Coronation Street is airing some dramatic scenes this week, as Max falls down the stairs after breaking into Daniel's flat and accidentally smashing the last memory of his late wife Sinead.

Daniel is rightly fuming but he takes matters into his own hands and pushes Max towards the door to his flat. However, Max falls down the stairs and appears lifeless as he lays there.
