ITV2 reality tvshow The Weekender has been axed after 10 years. The followed holiday reps during and after work hours in some of Europe's party destinations such as Magaluf, Ibiza and Kavos.
The franchise launched breakout TV personalities such as David Potts, who is currently starring in The Big Celebrity Detox on E4, and Jordan Davies.
The first three series of the show were filmed at the Lively Hotel in Majorca before relocating to Ibiza from series four. The show changed to Ibiza Weekender. After six series at Ryans Ibiza Apartments, the show moved to Greece for the Kavos Weekender. Production started last year with the reps staying at the Morfeas Hotel.
ITV has decided to end production of the show, reports The Sun. An insider told The Sun: "The cast were recently informed that planned filming later this year has now been cancelled and the show won't be coming back.
"They're all gutted as many of them have been on it for years and it's always been such a popular format.
"ITV2 have had to make some difficult decisions with the return of Big Brother taking up a big portion of the schedule later in the year, and it looks like the Weekender series is one of those casualties.
"Obviously in telly land shows can always be resurrected, so it's not necessarily gone forever, but for the foreseeable future it's off the cards."
