ITV No Return viewers call for second series while others complain about 'disappointing' ending

No Return viewers have been calling for a second series following the dramatic conclusion of the ITV drama.

Fans have been gripped by the story of a family holiday turning into a nightmare, starring Sheridan Smith, which came to a dramatic conclusion on Sunday night (February 28) after four episodes.

Viewers finally found out the fate of 16-year-old Noah who was accused of sexual assault while holidaying in Turkey.

And in the final episode Noah, played by Louis Ashbourne Serkis, stunned the court as he revealed what had really happened between him and 15-year-old fellow holidaymaker Milo.

He stood up in court to tell how they had been disturbed during a heated sexual encounter by Milo’s mum, who was part of a group that engages in gay conversion therapy, calling his phone.

Noah explained that Milo had spat at him and looked at him with hate.

But Noah thought it was a come-on to engage in rough sex and pushed him against the wall and kissed him, to which Milo responded.

In his closing statement the head judge said that while Noah had "taken his desires too far" as well as highlighting his "anger issues" the enounter between them was "almost certainly consensual."

Despite this, they found him guilty of breaking laws in Turkey which carried a sentence of three years in prison.

But there was a final twist when the judge explained the sentence would be suspended and Noah was free to return home to Manchester.

Some fans thought there were still too many loose ends and asked for a second series while others complained about the ending.

@Trillo7359 tweeted: "#noreturn was extremely disappointing as well. These ITV dramas sure do like to end on a damp squib."

@ady_staff said: "Too much crammed into the last episode... looked like they ran out off ideas for the story."

@CraigJOsborne said: "Well #NoReturn was extremely anticlimactic. Four weeks of my life wasted."

@DebbieBlackma14 wrote: "So much to be resolved. We needed another episode."

The final episode featured Martin finding an incriminating text to his wife from his bullying boss Carl and he later called to tell him to stick his job as Kathy looked on admiringly.

@atvfriend said: "I did wonder if this was a storyline for a second series."

And in another sub-plot her sister Megan flew home with her addict husband Steve and their young son after she was dumped by the holiday rep.

Others fans were raving about the final episode.

@codsallsi gasped: "Bloody hell how absolutely brilliant was #NoReturn yes a few unanswered questions but I'm hoping that is because there is a 2nd series planned."

@HG548_0 applauded: "#NoReturn was class tbf!"

@1888_Celticbhoy praised: "What an ending to #NoReturn oh wow."

And @dan_langshaw1 said: "#NoReturn was so so good and a drama with an actual ending I really loved the cast too!"
