Next Level Chef viewers switched off during tonight's first episode.
The new ITV programme is fronted by Gordon Ramsay, who describes the format as "the world's toughest cooking competition". The popular chef was joined by Paul Ainsworth and Nyesha Arrington to host Wednesday's premiere.
The culinary skills of 12 chefs are put to the test on the show in a three storey kitchen. The kitchens range from a state of the art modern setting to a dingy basement with the most basic of items.

The contestants are split into three teams, which features a mix of professionals, home and social media chefs. Chefs must grab ingredients and prepare a delicious item within minutes to progress to the next round of the show.
The chef who proves they can adapt best to their surroundings will win a £100,000 prize and a year long mentorship from Gordon, Paul and Nyesha..
The ITV version is an adaptation of a show first broadcast in America. Some viewers on Twitter took to the social media platform and said they were unimpressed with the production.
Max said: "10 minutes in… Oh dear… Could not watch a second more of it. Unbearably too American and hyper."
Simon commented: "The production on next level chef is very…American. That’s not a compliment"
Samantha posted: "This is already feeling very… erm… American"
janna posted: "Far too fake American whoop whoop grab grab, I turned it off at the first adverts, shame cos @GordonRamsay is my fave tv chef"
Katrina posted: "Could this programme be any more American"
However, other fans were thrilled by the new format.
Michelle said: "This has me hooked already and we're only 12 mins in"
Ruth added: "This is what telly should be like! Absolutely brilliant"
Rhys posted: "Loving the total competitiveness between @GordonRamsay @PaulAinsw6rth @nyeshajoyce and awesome mentoring. Brilliant show. #nextlevelchefuk (go on the home cooks)."
Georgina tweeted: "Next Level Chef is brutal, I love it."
