ITV's brand new Sunday night drama had viewers sitting on tenterhooks as it aired on April 23. Malpractice is written by Grace Ofori-Attah - who was a doctor herself for 15 years - and is the story of one doctor caught up in a dangerous conspiracy after the tragic death of a patient.
Niamh Algar, star of The Virtues, Deceit and The Wonder, plays the lead role as Dr Lucinda Edwards alongside James Purefoy (Fisherman's Friends), Brian Bovell (Solitary), Helen Behan, who also starred in The Virtues, Jordan Kouamé, and Lorne MacFadyen.
Speaking about her new series, Grace explained: "While Malpractice is set in A&E to reflect what was probably the most difficult junior doctor rotation I’ve ever done, the underlying story is really one about psychiatry, mental health, addiction and how that is pervasive. Not just in medicine but in wider society."
