ITV Love Island viewers make huge u-turn over 'vanishing' couple

Love Island fans are facing the reality of life without the show as it nears an end. But that's not before more drama thanks to the arrival of four new bombshells. With just over a week to go until the ITV2 dating show finishes for another year, bosses surprised viewers and the islanders with some fresh contestants.

Paige Thorne and Ekin-Su Culculoglu are the two who appear to have had their feathers ruffled the most by the arrival of two new girls, Nathalia Campos and Lacey Edwards. Brazil-born Nathalia selected Paige's partner Adam Collard to go on a date with and Paige confided in fellow islander Gemma Owen.

During the tearful exchange, the Welsh paramedic told Gemma: "Adam came in and I feel like from the start it has almost been a bit too good to be true. Surely like it’s not just going to be this easy, I just know it’s not. It never is for me, it hasn’t been in here for me at all. So why would this be any different?"

She added: "He’s a super flirty guy anyway and he can chat for days and they’re [the bombshells] not going to be taking it easy and just having normal chit chat. They’re going to be pulling everything they can out of the bag." Speaking in the beach hut shortly after, Paige said: “Now I’m sat here thinking about it, I literally feel sick to my stomach.”

Ekin-Su also found herself on edge as Nathalia expressed an interest in her partner Davide Sanclimenti. Speaking to some of the girls, Ekin-Su said: “Girls, I don’t trust these newbies, I’m just saying. I don’t trust any of them. And that’s why I’m not going to kill them with kindness, I’m going to kill them with Ekin-Su."

The Turkish actress also demonstrated her feelings towards Davide after she was taken on a date by newcomer Reece Ford. During a romantic picnic, she told him: "You are an attractive guy. However, my head, my heart, my soul is with someone right now." Before adding: "I’m 100% with Davide."

But then in a teaser for Friday night's episode (July 22) it appears as though Ekin-Su doesn’t receive such a positive resolution as tensions reach boiling point with Nathalia. In the clip, the pair could be seen arguing with one another, as Ekin-Su asked "have you got an issue with me?” to which Nathalia replied: "Maybe you have an issue with yourself."

Despite all the other goings on in the Mallorcan villa, Love Island viewers found themselves wondering what happened to one of the 2022 series' original couples. Tash Ghouri and Andrew Le Page appear to be having a quiet spell in the villa after weeks of head-turning and tears.

And despite complaints at the time, it appears fans are missing the pair. @2woE11even tweeted: "Andrew and tasha have been a bit to quiet #LoveIsland." @shehnazkhan said: "Andrew and Tasha literally vanished in this episode I see #LoveIsland." @keenct shared: "not me missing andrew and tasha content.. what have i become #loveisland."

@annniepw commented: "Where are Tasha and Andrew this episode it’s so boring that I miss them #loveisland." @tophsbaby echoed: "Ngl i missed Tasha and Andrew on today's episode #LoveIsland."
