Love Island’s Paige Thorne has revealed she is back in 'slight contact' with her former flame Jacques O'Neill after their emotional time on the show. During the 2022 series of the ITV2 dating show over the summer, there were tearful scenes as former rugby star Jacques decided to quit the show.
He decided to leave the villa amid the fallout of annual 'relationship test' Casa Amor, which saw his relationship with Welsh paramedic Paige on the rocks, saying he needed to "get back to himself". After leaving the villa, Jacques said that taking part in the show was the 'worst decision of his life'. But he has since signed to Manchester's Social PR, run by former islander Scott Thomas.
Paige then struck up a relationship with Love Island returnee Adam Collard in the Mallorcan villa. The couple missed out on a place in the final on the show over the summer which was eventually won by Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.

However, the pair have since split, with Paige deleting all traces of Adam from her social media earlier this month and both confirmed they're single on different occasions. But in a move that might surprise Love Island fans, Paige revealed she is back in touch with her ex Jacques.
Speaking on the Saving Grace podcast, the 24-year-old said: "There has been slight contact. No contact with the lips. Let’s not forget how this boy done me in Casa [Amor]. Obviously we had a vibe in there." She added: "But he done me over. D**khead. Fine. But we’re just going to see where things go. I am in zero rush to be with a man because men are trash."
Paige also firmly ruled out a reconciliation with Adam as she said: "Absolutely not. I mean, would you?" But in more surprising news, Paige also revealed that she was engaged just months before going on the show.
Speaking about getting on the show, she told the podcast's host Grace Keeling. "I did apply [for Love Island]. My thought process was… It’s bad, it’s petty next level, but you know we’ve all been there. I’m so embarrassed but I’m just going to say it how it is.”
"My partner at the time, he left me in January. We were engaged. Traumatic experience. He did it over text whilst I was in work. I’m in the back of the ambulance and I get a text, and he’s like: ‘I’m breaking up with you, I’m leaving.'”
"So that happened, and then I got home and he’s there with his bags ready to leave. He leaves me, I’m heartbroken. I thought he was ‘The One’, he was not. Disgusting. I saw that he was on Tinder within a week, it was the worst breakup of my life.”
"I just thought, ‘If you’re going to be on Tinder, then I’m going to be on your TV screen for the whole summer. You can do Tinder, I’ll do Love Island.'"
