ITV Love Island's Jacques O'Neill says he hasn't spoken to Paige Thorne since show ended

Love Island star Jacques O'Neill has revealed that he hasn't spoken to ex Paige Thorne since leaving the villa. The 23-year-old left the villa following a dramatic time in Casa Amor. Since quitting the series, Jacques has been outspoken on his battles with mental health. Following Jacques' early exit, Swansea paramedic Paige began a relationship with former Islander, Adam Collard, who made a shock comeback during the series.

Following talk that Jacques skipped Sunday night's reunion show (which was filmed on Thursday, August 4), he gave his opinion on Paige and Adam's romance in a candid fan Q&A chat with his fellow Islander Luca Bish in an Instagram live broadcast. When asked what he thinks of Paige and Adam, Jacques said: "They seem like they get on really, really well." But he added sarcastically: "Her mum seems really fond of Adam so yeah. I'm sure the Sunday dinner will go really well."

During the annual 'friends and family' episode of the latest series, Paige's mother shared her thoughts on Adam and warned her that she is "not buying it". She told her daughter: "The way you were with Jacques you were a lot more you and bouncy and full of life and personality. With Adam it just seems a lot different."

When asked by Luca if he had spoken to his ex since the show ended, Jacques replied: "No I haven't. That was short and sweet wasn't it. No I haven't simple as that."

Elsewhere in the conversation, Jacques and Luca were delighted when they clocked that former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas was watching and had sent the message 'Love You Boys.' "[We should] go for a Sunday carvery or something," Jacques jokingly told him.

Following his early exit from Love Island Jacques spoke to Love Island host Laura Whitmore on the spin-off show Aftersun, and said that he had told Paige 'to crack on' after he left. "I said crack on just like I did in Casa. She needs to explore like I did," he told the host.

"I said 'you do what you need to do' and she's doing that so good on her." But he added about their relationship: "We had a good connection and we really got on and I did see things working on the outside between us." You can read more about his appearance here.

Fans will not have to wait long for the next series of Love Island as 2023 will see the return of a winter edition of the show. You can read everything you need to know about winter Love Island here.
