Before the eighth series of Love Island began, rumours spread that Michael Owen's daughter Gemma would be amongst the original line-up. Ever since the 19-year-old brunette beauty walked into the Mallorcan villa four weeks ago, fans of the hit ITV2 show have been eager to hear her speak about her famous dad.
But apart from mentioning him in her introduction video, Gemma seemed to keep her relationship with the former Manchester United and Liverpool striker under wraps, which has led viewers to believe that her fellow Islanders may not know her about her celebrity family.
That was until ex-Islander Ikenna Ekwonna, who left the show after a shock double dumping, revealed that the stars were told she was the daughter of Michael Owen in unaired scenes early on. Speaking to host Laura Whitmore on Aftersun, Ikenna said: "You know what's mad? We didn't really know until like the second or third day, but I don't think the girls knew that the guys knew."

Despite this, viewers have not heard Gemma name-drop the football legend for themselves, until last night when Antigoni Buxton, daughter of celebrity chef Tonia Buxton, finally asked the question that has been on everyone's lips.
During a chat in the dressing room whilst the girls' got glammed for the evening, Antigoni asked Gemma: "Sorry and excuse me if I'm being ignorant, but is your dad quite like very very well known, he played for England right?"
Pampering her face, the international dressage rider then subtly responded "yeah".
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu then asked Gemma if she knew David Beckham's sons, to which she responded: "Well I went to nursery with his sons, yeah."
Michael Owen has also kept pretty quiet about his daughter's appearance on dating show so far, until it was time for the racy heart rate challenge. As the sexy scenes aired, which saw Gemma lap dance whilst wearing a skimpy outfit, the striker finally broke his silence.
Tweeting to his 3.7 million followers on Twitter, Michael Owen shared a simple emoji in reaction to his daughter - a shocked face with hands covering its eyes - presumably signalling his awkwardness after having to watch what no father should.
Gemma is currently coupled up with 23-year-old Luca Bish, who is a fishmonger from Brighton. Last night the loved-up pair had a night alone in the hideaway, with them both admitting they could 'fall in love' with each other.
But there could be some testing times ahead for the couple as Casa Amor returns on Friday night.
