They may have become love rivals early into the 2022 series of Love Island but it appears the bromance between Davide Sanclimenti and Jay Younger is very real. Viewers of the ITV2 dating show were baffled earlier this week at the Italian business owner's reaction to investment analyst Jay being dumped from the villa.
During Monday night's episode it was revealed that the islanders had to decide which couple stayed in the villa and which consequently left after a public vote put Dami Hope, Summer Botwe, Jay and Chyna Mills in the bottom two couples. And the villa made the decision that Jay and Chyna would leave, keeping Dami in thanks to his blossoming romance with Indiyah Polack.
Following the decision, Davide, 27, said: "Jay is the last person I would like to send home because he's probably my best mate inside the villa." The comment did leave some fans confused over his best mate confession as they pointed out that Jay had originally stole Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu off him, even having secret kisses with the Turkish actress.
