Love Island fans vowed to 'switch off' from the winter edition of the show following Tanyel Revan's exit. The hairstylist from north became the latest contestant to get the boot from the ITV2 dating show after Jordan Odofin chose to recouple with Ellie Spence.
She was left single during the shock recoupling which meant she had to pack her bags and leave the South African villa during Thursday night's episode (February 9). After the boys were given the opportunity to choose who they would like to partner up with, Tanyel told her disappointed islanders: "Oh my god guys, seriously, everything happens for a reason, don’t be upset."
After Jordan chose to couple up with rival Ellie, Tanyel said: "I think he knew in his heart that I was making an effort just for the sake of it. I wanted to be open and give it a go but I think he knew that I didn’t fancy him. I was expecting him to pick Ellie. She’d given him more time and I didn’t."

Ron Hall and Samie Elishi were brought to tears over the news of Tanyel’s departure. Speaking about Tanyel in the beach hut, 25-year-old financial adviser Ron said: "I cannot speak any more highly of that girl, she is one of a kind." Meanwhile, 22-year-old estate agent co-ordinator Samie said: "Tanyel has literally been my rock in here, she is just such a great girl."
And it's fair to say Love Island viewers weren't happy with the result. @trashtvbby tweeted: "I'm gonna switch off this season now, goodbye #LoveIsland." @richardcronin23 said: "That’s it everyone switch channels , poor Tanyel #LoveIsland." @FlekzV echoed: "That’s it guys. TV off i’m acc tired. First Zara and now Tanyel #LoveIsland."
@tomjdudley fumed: "I’m sorry but we lost Tanyel BEFORE Casa Amor, im done with this show #LoveIsland." @da1lymemes posted: "We’ve lost our queen Tanyel I’m done #loveisland #loveislanduk." @NaimahRebelle added: "Ok so #loveisland and I are done. It’s been fun. Tanyel leaving is unacceptable.."
Meanwhile, other Love Island fans think they've worked out why Tanyel was the latest to leave - and it's down to two other islanders. @yutastrophywife fumed: "The only reason tanyel is leaving is bc olivia and shaq (and tanya) COULDNT KEEPT THEIR BIG MOUTHS SHUT AND MIND THEIR BUSINESS #loveisland."
@biatrigo tweeted: "Isn’t that odd that every single girl who’s got beef with Olivia gets dumped after a few days? Sammi watch out #loveisland." @iwishauwould shared: "Why is it that whenever Olivia doesn’t like someone the whole villa somehow also doesn’t like them and they end up getting dumped?? All of them are losers and followers #loveisland."
@hadleyogarro complained: "Jordan deffo would’ve picked Tanyel if Shaq and Tanya weren’t doing up Oprah Winfrey and Gail King. Kmt. #LoveIsland." @theashrb added: "I shall never vote for Shaq in this series… he is the reason Tanyel is going home. With his loose mouth #LoveIsland."
