Love Island fans think they have spotted a 'divided' in the villa as the drama well and truly begins. We're almost two weeks into the eighth edition of the ITV2 dating show and while nothing major has kicked off so far, trouble definitely appears to be brewing in paradise.
Jay Younger and Remi Lambert are stirring up trouble in Mallorca as they continue to make their moves on the female islanders after becoming the latest bombshell contestants. The pair entered the villa as surprise arrivals at the end of Tuesday evening’s episode of the ITV2 dating show but it's only in the last couple of days fans have watched the pair settling into villa life.
And it didn't take long for investment analyst Jay, 28, and Ekin-Su Culculoglu, 27, to become involved in a secretive series of conversations, which saw Ekin-Su become torn between Jay and her current partner Davide Sanclimenti. Speaking to Ekin-Su during Thursday night's episode (June 16), Jay made his feelings clear, telling her: "I’m more invested now in terms of verging on a romantic level… Because I think I’ve got enough from you now."
He then added: "If you weren’t in a couple right now, I would probably try and kiss you." Ekin-Su appeared to reciprocate his feelings, saying: "I’ve tried to get this with Davide for days. You’ve come in here and I feel like I fancy someone, it just feels like it’s flowing without effort."
Later in the episode, Ekin-Su told Jay they should go up to the terrace, making him leave the group minutes after she made her dash to the outdoor area. She then proceed to crawl along the terrace floor before getting Jay to do the same to remain out of sight from their fellow islanders, and most importantly Davide, before sharing a secret kiss.
Despite their attempts to keep their growing connection hidden, after secretly retreating to the terrace for a second time, other islanders began to cotton on, with Gemma Owen speculating: "Are they on the terrace?", whilst her partner Luca Bish shouted up: "Ekin, Jay?"
They then proceed to repeat their secret tryst the next night and shortly after, Ekin-Su confessed all - but only to two of the girls. Gathering Paige Thorne and Gemma around the fire pit, the Turkish actress revealed: “Girls you deserve to know this right now, I am going to say it.
"So for the past two days, two nights, I’ve been meeting up with Jay on the terrace and getting quite close with him." She then added: "And we kissed… The best kiss ever." The girls shared their surprise before Gemma, who was coupled up with Davide before Ekin-Su's arrival, advised her to tell the truth and go after what she wants.
But Love Island viewers were left baffled as to why it was just Paige and Gemma were chosen for her confession. @jaimelee133 tweeted: "Did anyone else notice there’s a divide with the girls when ekin su pulled Paige and Gemma to tell them she kissed jay she said they were the only ones who deserved to know. I wonder why she didn’t tell the other girls #LoveIsland."
@etherealscene shared: "You know it’s interesting that Ekin Su said that Gemma and Paige were the only girls who “deserved to know” about her and Jay??? Spill the teaaaa??? #LoveIsland." @NalaaLalaa adked: "Now why Gemma and Paige the only ones who ‘deserve’ to know this #loveisland." @youreliked said: "Why gemma and paige?? mhmmm #LoveIsland."
However, they also think one of the girls will spill as a teaser for Friday night's episdoe showed an unhappy Davide calling Ekin-Su a 'liar' before she ends up in tears.
