Love Island fans appear to be having their patience tested when it comes to one specific thing this series. The brand new winter edition of the ITV2 dating show only kicked off earlier this week and just days in, viewers are threatening to 'riot' after picking up on Ron Hall's habit.
Earlier this week the 25-year-old, who is the show’s first-ever visually impaired contestant, opened up to his partner Lana Jenkins about being blind in one eye. Speaking about losing his sight at the age of eight after a football accident, Ron told 25-year-old make-up artist Lana: "I had loads of operations as a kid, trying to fix it, but after however many, five or six, they said you’re not going to get your sight back in it."
The financial advisor jokingly added: "If I’ve only got one eye on you, it’s not because I’ve got my eye on another girl. It’s just my dodgy eye." Lana later admitted it was "nice for him to open up" and told Ron that finding out he was partially blind does not make him "any less fit".
But their new romance has since been tested after Ron was chosen to go on a date with new bombshell, Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown. During Wednesday night's episode, Ron left his Lana back in the villa as he headed off to meet actress and model Zara. When reflecting on the date in the beach hut, Ron said: "She’s just ticking boxes, everything that she was saying was just stuff I wanted to hear."
He added: "The head is swivelling." But during the laest trip to the villa on Thrusday night, Tanyel Raven looks set to put the cat amognst the pigeons as she spoke to Ron, telling him: "Two can play that game, my top two would be you and Kai." She later tells the beach hut: "I feel like Ron brings out a different side of me, maybe more of the feistier side which is probably better in some ways. I want to flirt with Ron all day and all night."
However, it is Ron's way of talking about the girls that have sparked viewers to complain - specifically the mention of 'boxes'. @LeaVictoria02 tweeted: "If I am going to hear 'ticking the boxes' one more time I am going to riot #LoveIsland." @shazturnbull_ fumed: "The ticking boxes patter on love island is f***in p***in me off #LoveIsland."
@macarenahannah asked: "Why does Ron have an obsession of saying ‘ticking boxes’ #LoveIsland." @lizardsgizzard quipped: "I heard Ron went on Deal Or No Deal but they couldn't air the episode because he kept ticking all the boxes. #LoveIsland." @sharon_wisner added: "Lana ticks Ron's boxes. Zara ticks Ron's boxes. Ron's got Boxes needing ticked. The main thing is WHICH Boxes does Ron want ticked, and does Lana wanna tick those Boxes (enough boxes!) #LoveIsland."
It comes after Love Island fans also asked 'can they stop' after realising another buzzword amongst the islanders. @XianLoves posted: "I’m very late to the party true I only caught up last night. BUT has anyone commented on how many times these flippin islanders have said “unreal” this season? If you took a shot for every time so far, you would be brunch drunk Find a new adjective lads #LoveIsland."
@snobbyang pleaded: "#LoveIsland please free us from the word UNREAL." @SuziFabLane tweeted: "There is always one word that always gets over used every season on #LoveIsland this season it’s 'Unreal'." @tamilore_x asked: "Can they stop saying 'unreal' pls #LoveIsland." @aliyahvxx added: "How many times are they going to say ‘unreal’ this season. i’m tired #LoveIsland."
