Love Island fans complained that they 'couldn't watch' the latest episode as the games returned. Thursday night's episode of the ITV2 dating show saw the two new male bombshells Jordan Odofin and Casey O’Gorman settling in after making their grand entrance the previous evening.
And it appears show bosses had a plan up their sleeves to help the newcomers get to know the other islanders better by setting up a game. The islanders were surprised with a kissing competition via a text which read: "Islanders, it's time to pucker up and lock lips in today's challenge, The Kissing Competition #Mouth2Mouth #TheseLipsDontLie."
The group then headed off out of the plush South African villa and viewers saw the boys lined up by the pool wearing eye masks and ear protectors while the girls took it in turns to go down the line and kiss each boy.
The boys then had to rate each girl's kissing ability out of 10 despite not knowing who was behind the lips. And the game, as expected, didn't come without its drama.
Shaq Muhammad was left fuming after his partner Tanya Manhenga did not hold back when it came to kissing the other guys in the villa, which earned her the top spot on the kissing scoreboard. Meanwhile, Olivia Hawkins told Lana Jenkins Tanyel Revan and Ron Hall's kiss made her feel uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, Love Island viewers were flocking to social media as they cringed over the challenge. @StVillVisuals tweeted: "I'm a fan of the show but I can’t help but cringe in disgust every time they make out with multiple people back to back. Like you just swapped spit with that guy and now you want to kiss me?! #loveisland."
@LaurenD15198 said: "I hate kissing challenges they make me cringe so hard #loveisland #loveislanduk." @leanne_tweetsxo echoed: "The kissing challenge is SO cringe #LoveIsland." @N0BODYGETSME shared: "can they speed up to the kissing challenge i want this ep to finish already #LoveIslandUK #LoveIsland." @sweeties157 added: "I can’t lie I don’t want to watch this kissing challenge. Like why is that even a thing #LoveIsland."
But it wasn't the saucey challenge that viewers couldn't watch. Fans complained that they were unable to watch the show following Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown's dumping from the villa after being left single after Wednesday night’s surprise recoupling.
@yonqhop siad: "Don’t know how you guys are still able to watch #loveisland without Zara, like I physically can’t." @cartereland tweeted: "I just can't watch this show without zara like I can't believe they did that to her #LoveIsland."
@onlytopg_ posted: "Still mourning zara. Can’t even watch the show #loveisland." @neillwanga92 added: "Until I see her on aftersun I’m still in denial about Zara’s exit. I can’t even watch the show. #loveisland."
Meanwhile, fans have also been left sickened after picking up on the boys' catchphrase 'on job'. @markharvey297 tweeted: "On job is such a gross phrase, I don't wanna hear my man call flirting with me a job #loveisland." @AmyJoSays said: "The phrase "on job" gives me the ick. #LoveIsland." @MeganElizabeth_ posted: "Any time someone says 'on job' I am sick in my mouth a little bit #LoveIsland."
@jimmyjim9od1 shared: "'On job' honestly makes me feel sick #loveisland." @Katy_Notley wrote: "CANNOT bear to hear ‘on job’ come out of another man’s mouth. SMH #loveisland." @_amber_ox added: "If Ron says “on job” once more I might be sick#loveisland."
