ITV Lorraine viewers point out issue as they mock guest over cost of living chat

ITV Lorraine viewers were critical over a segment that discussed million-pound mansions after the cost of living crisis on Tuesday's programme (August 23). The show kicked off with a chat with self-development coach Roxie Nafousi, who penned the best-selling book Manifest.

The 32-year-old shared with Christine Lampard, who's been covering for Lorraine, how changing her mindset and 'manifesting' has lead her to live out her dreams. It included creating 'mood boards' of how she wanted her reality to look in a year's time.

Lampard asked Nafousi if, with so many people struggling with the cost of living crisis, manifesting could help them too. Nafousi said she 'truly believes' manifesting can help anyone and that of 'all the challenges, struggles and rejection' in life, how we feel about ourselves and how we express gratitude can really help.

But viewers had mixed views on the segment; while some found the idea of manifesting helpful, others mocked the suggestion, saying it wouldn't help those struggling financially. Taking to Twitter, @iamicaniwill said: "#manifestation works. It’s what I as a therapist, call self-fulfilling prophecy. The unconscious mind believes whatever you tell it, real or imagined; whether good or bad and then finds a way to fulfil. And yes, inner work’s vital. I’ve done loads, still do #lorraine."

But @lindafraser852 asked: "Will manifesting bring my energy bills down #lorraine" while @Atticus456 echoed: "#lorraine Manifest... really.. I would like to manifest the ability to pay my energy bills!...what content are we listening to here... please look at what the public want to watch not this rubbish".

Next, TV presenter Dani Behr, who now lives in Los Angeles and works in real estate, appeared on the popular ITV programme to present the showbiz news segment. She discussed topics including Harry Styles' Rolling Stones front cover, the latest season of the Kardashians and Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's wedding.

To end the segment, Behr imparted her real estate wisdom on Lampard by breaking down her top pick of million dollar mansions across the pond. She said that prices had massively increased - and her highlights included Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne's Hancock Park mansion, which sold for around $18 million.

Canadian singer The Weeknd had put his penthouse up for sale at $22.5 million and Cindy Crawford sold her Malibu estate for just under an eye-watering $90 million. But again, not all viewers were impressed with the ending of the segment, suggesting the timing might not have been appropriate.

"With many families facing poverty do we really need Dani Behr talking about million pound mansions ?? #lorraine" asked @GavinEvs, as @anna_and_pickle jokingly responded: "Manifest it."

@TheIntoxicatedJ commented: "From Mansions to the Cost of living crisis? #Lorraine" and @mouseymitch said: "Who honestly NEEDS a $70 million home? #Lorraine". @hughmiller2 said: "Living in a crisis with cost of living and what's the topic on Lorraine oh let's talk about the millionaires house and how to dress like them lol".
