To mark St David's Day broadcaster Lorraine Kelly attempted to introduce her ITV1 morning show Lorraine by speaking in Welsh. She tried to wish her viewers a happy St David's Day in Welsh.
The Scottish star attempted a: "Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus" but she didn't quite master the pronunciation and had to apologise to viewers for her attempt. She said: "I am so sorry to everyone in Wales because that was terrible! I probably said something very rude. Happy St David's Day though – I did try."
Elsewhere in the show Alex Beresford was reporting the weather live from Cardiff Castle ahead of the St David's Day parade taking place and Lorraine's studio was decorated with daffodils as a symbol of Wales. On Tuesday, February 28, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited south Wales to celebrate St David's Day.

Their Royal Highnesses undertook three engagements ahead of another busy day in Windsor on March 1 where the Prince of Wales will watch his first parade as Colonel of the Welsh Guards. Prince William overtook the role following his father's ascension to the throne. His previous role as Colonel of the Irish Guards has been handed to Kate.
The first engagement of the day saw Kate and William visit the Brynawel Rehabilitation Centre to learn about the work they do to support those struggling with the effects of drug and alcohol addiction. As patron of the Forward Trust the Princess of Wales has an interest in helping those recovering from addiction.
The second appearance of the day was at an Aberavon leisure centre to meet local communities and hear about how sport and exercise can support mental health and wellbeing. The Princess of Wales beat her husband in a virtual endurance cycle race in the Italian Dolomites while wearing high-heeled boots.
