ITV Lorraine hails Sir Billy Connolly as 'perfect' police chief in Tom Allen's new comedy show

Scottish host Lorraine Kelly named her 'perfect' island when chatting to comedian Tom Allen about his new show on Dave, called The Island.

The new comedy panel show, beginning on Wednesday March 23 at 10pm, will see four comic guests battle it out to have the best island.

Sara Pascoe, Johnny Vegas, Ninia Benjamin and Ahir Shah will be the leaders of the four undiscovered islands that Tom's ship, the SS Unsinkable, will run aground on.

So, in theme with this new show concept, Lorraine had came up with her own island, that included Sir Billy Connolly as her chief police inspector.

Lorraine said: "I was having a think about it, and it is quite a difficult decision to find a national animal, chief of police and what the national anthem would be.

"I think, the song that always makes me feel better is Club Tropicana, so I've created my own wee island."

Tom then said: "That's the great thing about this show, is that you can play along at home!"

Lorraine continued: "I've got Billy Connolly as my chief of police. There wouldn't be any crime on my island if he was head of the coppers."

Tom then said: "No, could you even imagine being arrested by Billy Connolly?"

Lorraine replied: "You just wouldn't mess with him!

"I chose a honey badger as my national animal, I know they're a bit dangerous but I do love them."

Tom picked there to be no national anthem on his island, called Old Man Island, and for there to be yoga as a national sport, as he added: "I am a bit boring and old, so my island would be very relaxed."

You can watch Tom Allen's brand new comedy panel show The Island, on Dave tonight at 10pm.

ITV's Lorraine resumes on Thursday, March 24 and each weekday from 9am onwards.
