Charlene White has admitted to having a 'wobble' during her first day of freedom after becoming the first to be eliminated from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. The Loose Women star was the first to leave the jungle on Friday night (November 18) following a public vote.
During her time on the ITV reality show, Charlene had questioned former health secretary Matt Hancock about breaking coronavirus social distancing rules during the pandemic with his aide Gina Coladangelo. After a bit of confrontation from the ITV News broadcaster and some of the other campmates, an emotional Matt admitted: "What I’m really looking for is a bit of forgiveness."
In her first interview since leaving the Australian jungle on Monday (November 21), Charlene appeared live via video link from Down Under to chat to her Loose Women co-stars on the ITV lunchtime show. Talking of Matt, she said: "I think the team grew to trust him and grew to lean on him because he had to do a lot of stuff that many of us in the camp didn’t know how to do.

"I felt that within my role as a journalist in day-to day-life, I felt I needed to ask questions that perhaps many people back home would want answers to, because Matt is a sitting MP and Parliament is still going. We asked them and it was done, he gave an answer and it was never brought up again."
She added: "Matt and I got on with day-to-day life and got on well while we were in there, it was just I had to walk a tightrope, which was fine because he’s lovely." Charlene was also quizzed on the RV controversy which caused outrage among viewers as she refused to share the luxury spot with Matt.
It also received criticism from her fellow campmates for the move after they became leader and deputy of the camp. She told presenter Jane Moore on Loose Women that as a journalist sharing an intimate space with a sitting MP "didn’t sit well" with her but she "massively" regrets not explaining her decision with her campmates, who were left confused by her refusal.
"I just felt that being in that intimate space was a step too far but I guess the mistake I made was not being explicit enough about that with the other campmates who were confused about it," she said.
Prior to appearing on Loose Women, Charlene shared a video in which she discussed her first days out of camp. In a video shared to her Twitter she opened up about some of the backlash she received. Charlene said: “Thank you so much for all your lovely messages.
"Thank you for all the messages of concern from followers to this account to Loose Women viewers to friends and family concerned about a lot of the negative stuff that’s been online about me." She did, however, say that "some of the nasty words" aimed at her have "hurt".
Charlene continued: “It caused a few wobbles on the first day out but I’m doing better than then and I’ll get better as the days go on I’m sure. But I had a wonderful time in that jungle. I think only the 11 of us will know what that felt like. There was a lot of love and a lot of support."
