ITV Loose Women 'rename' Nadia Sawalha after major appearance change

Nadia Sawalha looked like a new woman as she debuted a different hairstyle on Loose Women today.

The 57-year-old is best known for having a head full of big, bouncy curls. But today, she shocked viewers as she chose to have her hair straightened. Her co-stars - Frankie Bridge, Kaye Adams and Carol McGiffin - made comments on her new look as they opened the show.

The women joked that the new look made her look like she should have a different name, as she didn't look like Nadia anymore. They discussed possible new names such as Abbie and Arlene.

Nadia went on to explain why she decided to change her defining hair style. She was inspired by The Duchess of Cambridge's hairdresser's claims that slicked back hair can give people a more youthful look.

But Nadia didn't think it worked, as she said: "I think it looks ancient. You can see my neck. It definitely doesn't give me a face lift." She added: "I'm constantly pulling my hair forward to cover my neck and now I'm like my neck my neck."

Kaye Adams complimented her as she made note of how good her cheekbones looked. Nadia admitted it took an hour to get it straight and she could already feel it "pinging back" into curls.

Fans on Twitter wanted Nadia to bring her curls back. Hayley said: "No Nadia, I absolutely love your curls @nadiasawalha #loosewomen." Dame said: "Someone give Nadia her curling iron back #LooseWomen."

Whereas other viewers loved the new look. Diane said: "Nadia keep your hair that way it looks so much better #LooseWomen." Elizabeth said: "Liking Nadia’s straight hair #loosewomen."
