ITVX's debut brings with it a whole host of new dramas for viewers to enjoy. One of the first shows to feature on the streaming platform is Litvinenko, which tells the tragic real-life story of former Russian spy, Alexander Litvinenko.
David Tennant leads the cast as the titular Litvinenko in the four-parter, which releases on Thursday, December 15. The role is the actor's first since he was revealed to be the 14th Doctor in Doctor Who - taking over from Jodie Whittaker and being succeeded by Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa.
But who else is in the cast of Litvinenko, what is it about and how can you watch the new series? Here's everything you need to know.

Who is in the cast?
As mentioned, David Tennant leads the cast. He told i Newspaper of taking the role: "The story feels important on a geopolitical scale. It reveals the terrible truth of what was attempted by this gangster who happens to have all this power. It also shows the wonderful victory – and I use that word advisedly – that exists within this. What Putin set out to do was to make sure this story was never told. So it feels that the most important thing we can do is to tell the story again and again and again because that way, Putin loses."
The drama also focuses on the story of Marina, played by Margarita Levieva (The Deuce, The Blacklist), Alexander’s fearless, dignified widow who fought tirelessly to persuade the British Government to publicly name her husband’s killers and acknowledge the role of the Russian State in his murder.
Litvinenko is produced with the support of many of the key individuals involved in the investigation and subsequent public enquiry including former New Scotland Yard officers, Clive Timmons and Brent Hyatt, along with Ben Emmerson QC and Alexander’s family. Mark Bonnar (Catastrophe, Quiz) will play Clive Timmons, whilst Neil Maskell (Small Axe, Utopia) is playing Brent Hyatt.
What is the plot?
Litvinenko will follow the 10-year legal fight by Alexander Litvinenko’s wife, Marina Litvinenko, to prove the guilt of those who poisoned her husband.
The series begins with Alexander's poisoning in episode one and the remaining three episodes explore Marina’s attempts to release the names of those responsible for her husband’s death.
How can you watch Litvinenko?
