ITV I'm a Celebrity viewers slam Owen Warner 'joke' as Seann Walsh leaves jungle

I’m a Celebrity fans feared the worst when Hollyoaks star Owen Warner was told he ‘might be’ going home from the jungle. Friday night's evection saw Owen under threat of eviction but it was Seann Walsh who was told his time was up.

It was just earlier this week that bookies declared he had edged out England Lionesses hero Jill Scott to be the new favourite to snatch the jungle crown, as many bookies could not separate the two in the odds.

But Friday night's vote prompted some viewers to declare a ‘state of alarm’ he was told he ‘might be’ going home from the I'm a Celebrity jungle, Chronicle Live reports.

Many viewers said they sad been expecting Owen to at least make this year’s I’m A Celebrity final, so it came as a surprise when the soap star has a nail-biting wait as he and eventual evictee Sean Walsh had their fate revealed to them by hosts Ant and Dec.

Comedian and ex Strictly star Seann looked gutted to be going right before the final but online, the concern was very much about Owen nearly leaving.

It’s important to point out that Ant and Dec say the results are in no particular order, but, presuming Owen was in danger of getting the axe, fans were left both concerned and furious. One took to Twitter to post: "OWEN WAS IN THE BOTTOM TWO??? PARDON??" A second, equally shocked, tweeted: "Owen being in the bottom two and not matt Hancock. Is this a joke?"

Trying to restore some calm and pointing out the results are meant 6 be in 'random order' another reacted: "Just because Owen was called in the bottom two doesn't mean the votes reflect that, look at the past voting data"

It comes after the soap star, 23, showcased his acting skills during I'm A Celebrity. The actor, who plays Romeo Nightingale in Hollyoaks, told his fellow campmates, Jill Scott and Seann Walsh that he can cry on demand - a skill which has been incredibly helpful to him in his acting career, The Mirror reports.

During tonight's episode, Owen explained: “When I first got on set, I’d watch X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent auditions, the really good ones, where they get a golden buzzer or there’s an emotional story to it…” To which Seann asked: "You'd want to watch that."
